Class Credits & Transfers:

If you cannot attend a class you must contact the registration office at least 72 hours prior to your first class meeting. With 72 hours notice we can transfer you to another available class or give you a credit voucher to use towards another class in the future (credits are good for one year from date of issue and cannot be redeemed for cash). There will be a $7 transaction fee for dropping or transferring out of the original class.

With less than 72 hours notice a credit voucher for half of the class’s tuition will be issued to your CFU account.

There are no credits issued for cancellations Computer Training classes under 72 hours notice. If you cannot attend, call in advance of class and we can allow you to use your “free repeat” option that is available with all computer classes. With computer classes we allow people to re-take the class at no-charge within 6 months of the original class. Free repeats are done on a stand-by basis. Priority is given to first-time student registrations, so we wait until the day before to make sure we have space for you. If you wish to schedule a standby make-up for a class, please call the office at 303-399-0093 x0 one business day before the session you’d like to take begins.  As long as there is space available at that time, we will enroll you for the class.

Refunds are given ONLY if CFU cancels a class. Memberships are non-refundable.  If you cannot receive phone messages, always call 24 hours in advance to make sure your class is running. Tuition and fees are subject to change. A service fee of $32 will be charged for each returned check.

Policies for In-Person Classes Related to illness and COVID-19:

CFU offers a mix of in-person and live, interactive online classes. Our goal is to provide a range of options that meet the interests learning needs of our students.

Colorado Free University, Inc. is complying with the latest CDC guidelines and local orders to maximize the safety of students and instructors attending classes in person. CFU’s current policies related to safety::

  1. Please do not attend class if you have symptoms of illness, including but not limited to fever, cough, sore throat, or difficulty breathing or if you have had a recent close exposure to someone with Covid 19. Call our office at (303) 399-0093 ext 0 about transferring to another session of the class.
  1. Generally masks are not required in class. Our teachers are independent contractors and as such, some may require that everyone remain masked in class.  Please be sure to check the notes included in the online class description for the specific class you are registering for to see if masks are required and be prepared to wear your mask. Call if you have questions about a class.  (303) 399-0093 ext 0.

Colorado Free University, Inc. cannot prevent you from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading illness while attending classes. If CFU determines that the risk of holding an in-person class is too high, we may postpone or transition the class online.

Registration for an in-person class means that you agree to follow CFU policies. Attendance at an in-person class implies that students choose to accept the risk of illness and will not hold Colorado Free University or the instructor liable for any potential illness.

Inclement Weather:

CFU rarely cancels in-person classes for weather. If , however, we deem that travel is significant risk for students, we may move a class online or postpone. Call 303-399-0093 for a “go/no go” update. If cancelled, classes will be rescheduled or vouchers for other classes will be issued.

CFU welcomes adult learners of 17 and older to attend class. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identification, or immigration status
