This class is the ultimate beginner’s introduction to hiking & camping in the glorious Colorado back country. Spend a couple of sessions in the classroom with retired architect and author of Lost Lakes & Secret Places, Mike Kephart discussing what you need to know about gear, safety, animals, hiking in the wild, food, and more. Then carpool up to the high country where you’ll hike as a group to a remote mountain lake and spend the evening and next morning before returning to Denver. Mike’s also an avid fly fisherman and he’ll include a free fly-fishing clinic to anyone interested after the classroom sessions. You’ll need be prepared to buy, rent, or borrow the necessary gear, but Mike’s all about making it affordable and easy. Join him and discover what Colorado has so much of to offer.
