Newly retired from a career in IT, Carole Nadeau Furnish is returning to her original passion: foreign languages. She has been taking Spanish courses at CFU and has recently returned from a Spanish language school in Costa Rica, Personalized Spanish, where she was able to further jump-start her Spanish. Classes at CFU Spanish are great, but there is nothing like living in a language. It was fun and she really enjoyed the people, the wonderful school, the beautiful country and the fabulous fruit.
This was by no means Carole’s first experience abroad. As a German major and PhD candidate, Carole lived and studied for years in Berlin, Germany, Salzburg, Austria, and Vienna, Austria. You will have a chance to meet her in August. Carole is joining CFU as a German teacher. Her main principle in learning a language: have fun! The more fun you have, the more you will learn. You will make mistakes; you will sound foolish. But if you can relax and go with the flow, the learning will be easier. It is hard work to learn a language well, but there are lots of ways to make it interesting. She has a number of them up her sleeves…
